Mathematical Statistics

This course emphasizes the theory of inferential statistics and its applications. At the end of this semester, you will be able to: 1) Understand the variation inherent to a sample from a population. 2) Make inferences about a variable in question (confidence intervals and hypothesis tests). 3) Become familiar with statistical software and writing mathematical documents. 4) Use the techniques developed in class to perform your own statistical analysis.
