This course presents a broad overview of the global business environment. An interdisciplinary approach is employed to enable students to develop an awareness and understanding of the dynamics that evolve and combine to shape the world-wide processes and practices of business. Lively discussions about current issues and events which are framed by the factors such as the what and why of globalization (including laws, politics and economic factors); the tools that characterize the practice of international business (trading, investing, dealing with foreign exchange, the influence of global and regional alliances); the types of strategies that organizations implement to grow internationally, and, the types of programs that international businesses implement in order to develop foundational excellence – all will be examined in this course.
